History

Savant opened for business in 1989 as a small general contracting company remodeling and fixturizing supermarkets and retail stores. The original owners, John Aldridge, Brad Hastings and Rick Zerillo worked in the industry the previous ten years building careers, learning the business and developing relationships with customers.

From the very start at Savant the approach was simple. Build a business focused on customer need, develop a style and approach that assisted store operations and most importantly, complete projects on time. Over the past thirty years the company has grown significantly and our philosophy hasn’t changed. Customer needs and corporate integrity come first.

This approach has enabled Savant to become one of the most trusted General Contractors on the west coast; building commercial retail projects in nine western states. Whether it’s ground up new construction or the renovation of an existing structure, Savant has the experience you need to get the job done.

Profiles

John Aldridge – President
Co-founder of Savant Construction, Inc. in 1989. John oversees all company operations, works directly with customers and clients and is actively involved in the coordination of Savant’s construction management team.

Brad Hastings – Secretary / Treasurer
Co-founder of Savant Construction, Inc. in 1989. Brad assists with the oversight of company operations, oversees all financial operations and works directly with customers and clients. Brad is also actively involved in the coordination of project management.

Brian Burns – Vice President, Finance
Brian manages all financial operations for Savant and works directly with John Aldridge and Brad Hastings. Brian has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from California Baptist University and has been with Savant for over 10 years, in addition to previous financial experience in another industry.

Matthew Aldridge – Vice President, Construction
Matthew has been with Savant for over 10 years and has his Associate’s degree in Construction Management. Matthew has experience as an Estimator, Field Superintendent and Project Manager. Responsibilities include the management of construction projects, budgeting and works directly with customers and clients. Matthew oversees project superintendents, monitors job scheduling, procedures and costs.

Trent Knapp – Vice President, Construction
Trent has been with Savant for over 10 years and has his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Trent has experience as an Estimator, Field Superintendent and Project Manager. Responsibilities include the management of construction projects, budgeting and works directly with customers and clients. Trent oversees project superintendents, monitors job scheduling, procedures and costs.

Gerry Mahoney – Senior Project Manager
Gerry has over 26 years of construction experience and has been with Savant for over 25 years. Responsibilities include the management of construction projects and works directly with customers and clients. Gerry oversees project superintendents, monitors job scheduling, procedures and costs.

Brian James – Project Manager
Brian has over 25 years of construction experience and has been with Savant 25 years. Responsibilities include the management of construction projects and works directly with customers and clients. Brian oversees project superintendents, monitors job scheduling, procedures and costs.

Casey Bodwell – Project Manager
Casey has over 15 years of construction experience and has been with Savant over 15 years. Responsibilities include the management of construction projects and works directly with customers and clients. Casey oversees project superintendents, monitors job scheduling, procedures and costs.

Gary Dorin – Project Manager
Gary has over 30 years of construction experience and has been with Savant over 20 years. Responsibilities include the management of construction projects and works directly with customers and clients. Gary oversees project superintendents, monitors job scheduling, procedures and costs.

Gary Page – General Superintendent
Gary has over 40 years of construction experience and has been with Savant 25 years. Gary supports field superintendents by training and assisting employees with construction procedures and technique, managing project schedules and subcontractors.

Jon Flores – Estimator
Jon receives and reviews all project bid documents in order to provide comprehensive bid proposals for Savant clients. Jon reviews plans and specifications, generates RFI’s and reviews subcontractor proposals to ensure that they are complete and encompass the required scopes of work. Jon also has experience as a Field Superintendent and has been with Savant for over 20 years.

Matthew Hinkley – Estimator

Matt receives and reviews all project bid documents in order to provide comprehensive bid proposals for Savant clients. Matt reviews plans and specifications, generates RFI’s and reviews subcontractor proposals to ensure that they are complete and encompass the required scopes of work. Matt joined the Savant team in 2017 and has been a great asset to Savant as an estimator.
